AJ Set for Kansas from 15th row

AJ Allmendinger wasn't able to keep the front row form he's had of late as the No. 43 Insignia Best Buy Ford Fusion has not shown the 'off the truck' pace the team has had in the last few weeks as qualifying at Kansas saw AJ lock in 30th on the 43 car grid, one spot ahead of the 99. The

"I have struggled with Kansas and unfortunately today didn't change that much," said AJ after the run. "We just were too loose then too tight for qualifying. Clearly we have a lot of work to do tomorrow. We want to keep that 43 Insignia ford up there in finishes, so we have our work cur out for us."

The good news is that with the Friday qualifying, there are two more practice sessions for Mike Shiplett and crew to tune on the 43 to be good to go on Sunday when it counts. Despite not having the pace to start the weekend that he wants, Allmendinger has some good memories at the track including taking his first-ever top-ten finish in 2008.
